From Million-Dollar Targets to Motherhood: My Journey to Finding Peace
By the age of 21, I was already living life in the fast lane. While most of my peers were just beginning their professional journeys, I was hitting six-figure earnings and navigating two high-pressure worlds. My primary income came from the legal and corporate sales sector, where the expectations were staggering—I was constantly chasing million-dollar targets every single month.
Simultaneously, I was managing my second stream of income: my own beauty salons. Between meeting sales goals to cover high overhead costs, payroll, and daily operations, I was trapped in a cycle of endless "hustle." I was successful on paper, but I was running on empty.
2) The Hidden Cost: When Success Becomes a Health Crisis
While I was busy building my empire, my health was quietly deteriorating. I was so driven to close deals that I would ignore my own body's basic needs. I remember routinely skipping bathroom breaks just to stay on the phone or in a meeting. Eventually, my body reached its breaking point—I began to see blood in my urine, a terrifying "red flag" that forced me to stop for several weeks just to recover.
But the real heartbreak came when my husband and I decided to start a family. Despite being ready in our hearts, my body—burnt out from years of high-intensity stress—simply could not conceive. My husband is a wonderful, happy-go-lucky man, and I knew the problem wasn’t him. It was the life I was leading.
I realized I had to make a choice: my career or my future children. It was incredibly painful. I felt a deep "heart pain" as I prepared to walk away from the business I built. Handing over my long-time clients to my juniors felt like giving away a piece of myself, but I knew I had to trade my old success for a chance at health and motherhood.
4) Finding a New Path
During this season of recovery, I reconnected with a former colleague who had become an Amway leader. She introduced me to their range of organic health supplements. Coming from a business background, I did my own due diligence. I researched the company thoroughly to ensure it was legitimate and that the supplements were truly organic and manufactured by Amway with integrity.
What I found gave me the confidence to move forward. I decided to shift my focus entirely to my health, becoming a “housewife cum Amway distributor.”
5) The Joy of Purposeful Parenting
The change was life-altering. Without the crushing weight of million-dollar targets, my stress disappeared. Within three years, the miracle happened—I finally became pregnant.
Being an Amway distributor has allowed me to be the mother I always dreamed of being. I’ve been blessed to have several children in a row, and because my Amway business is flexible, not stressful at all, and based on my own schedule, I am the one nurturing them. My children aren't being raised by helpers or digital screens; I make every minute a learning moment, growing them into purposeful individuals.
6) A Legacy for the Future
Today, I am proud to be part of the pioneer batch of Amway distributors in Singapore, with a business that reaches across borders into other countries. This is more than just a career; it is a hardship of work that can be passed down to multiple generations as long as Amway is active.
